Plantar fasciitis
Heel pain from plantar fascia inflammation — approached with acupuncture, cupping, and calf-release work at AHC Chicago.
Overview
About plantar fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis is inflammation and micro-tearing of the fascial band along the sole of the foot. TCM associates the heel with the Kidney channel and often finds a combination of local channel obstruction and underlying Kidney weakness — particularly in patients over 40 or with high standing demands.
Treatment
How we treat it
Local needling around the plantar fascia, points along the Bladder and Kidney channels, and cupping to release the calf and Achilles all figure into most treatment plans. We also work through footwear and daily loading habits. Most patients feel a meaningful reduction in morning pain within 6–8 sessions.
