Frequently Asked Questions
acupunture, herbs, massage in Chicago

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture stimulates you nervous system to provoke a healing response, improve circulation, decrease pain, and strengthen the organ(s) linked to the point. Acupuncture is not just an art, but a science crafted over thousands of years of trial and error. It is a system of healing based of clinical trials and observation—this allows our practitioners to treat many conditions effectively.

Does acupuncture work?

Whether or not it works depends solely on how the practice of acupuncture is applied in relation to your health condition. If someone inserts needles at random into the body with hopes to treat a condition, this is not acupuncture.

This is why all of our practitioners are licensed, certified, and highly-mentored in their craft. We understand that your health issues are delicate and unique to your situation, so we make sure to fully assess your body and find your pathology before we develop a treatment plan.

Is acupuncture painful?

Upon insertion, you may feel a slight sting that will quickly pass. It is just a reaction from the skin’s sensory receptors and the body naturally and quickly dulls that sensation.

Afterwards, you may feel a sensation that may shoot to other parts of the body. This is just the needle reflecting to other parts of the body, organs, and improving your circulation to those areas.

What are good reasons to have acupuncture?
  • For a natural treatment that does not have serious side effects
  • For health and balance maintenance of the body, mind, and emotions.
  • For minor AND major health issues (musculoskeletal injuries, sleeping problems, allergies, etc..)
  • For a health condition that has not been treated successfully by other methods.
  • Any of the conditions listed in our treated health conditions directory.
What are your other services

Do you sell herbs & supplements?

To keep it simple, yes, we do sell herbs.

Herbs may be labeled as “good” for certain conditions or have certain health benefits, but they are still what they are: medicinal. Therefore, they may help or even cause more problems depending on the state of your body and other factors.

And that’s why we recommend that you see one of our herbal specialists at any one of our offices before purchasing herbs.
